Duratex is 2018 Guia Exame de Sustentabilidade’s most sustainable company in its class
The company was awarded by the publication for the fourth time for its economic, environmental, social, and governance performance
Duratex was recognized as 2018 Guia Exame de Sustentabilidade’s Most Sustainable company in its class. The award further cements the company’s commitment to an increasingly sustainable management model.
In 2017, Duratex rolled out its Sustainability Strategy, focused on people, processes, products, services, and new business models. There are 8 strategic themes and 45 goals to achieve by 2025. To that end, the company has been hard at work promoting a cultural transformation within the company, continually improving its operations, and striving to become the benchmark in the provision of competitive and sustainable solutions.
Considered one of the country’s most prestigious awards, the guide, promoted by Editora Abril’s Exame magazine, recognizes Brazilian companies that are most committed to sustainability. The methodology through which the result is obtained was devised by Fundação Getúlio Vargas’ Center for Sustainability Studies (GVces), an institution that is an authority on the subject in Brazil, responsible for the country’s largest survey on corporate responsibility practices.
“Sustainable practices are in our DNA, in the processes and solutions we bring to the market and our consumers. This recognition reflects the commitment of our 11K employees,” points out Luciana Alvarez, Duratex’s sustainability and communications manager. “Every day we are inspired to develop people and add value across the board, expand the positive social-environmental impact across our value chain, innovate with sustainable solutions, and generate new business that meets society’s challenges,” adds Alvarez.
