Duratex’s leaders exchange experiences with the population of its surrounding communities
The company launches its CirandaD Vivências initiative, which aims to bring its leaders even closer to the people living near its industrial and forestry units
Maintaining a close relationship with its environment is one of the principles fostered by Duratex, which in its Sustainability Strategy commits to having 100% of its leaders exchanging experiences with the local communities surrounding the company by the year 2025.
To achieve this, the company launched the CirandaD Vivências initiative, which aims at providing managers and coordinators with the opportunity to immerse themselves with the communities close to the company units and further strengthen their ties with the environment.
The pilot experience took 13 managers of the Wood division to spend two days in the Tibiriçá community, a suburb of Bauru, located approximately 40 kilometers from Duratex’s forest and industrial units in Agudos, countryside of the State of São Paulo.
At the occasion, managers visited the community and participated in group dynamics conducted by Adigo Consultores, which facilitated the entire process. "The experience was very positive. Our leaders were able to truly experience the reality of our environment and create a strong link between Duratex's Sustainability Strategy, its cultural transformation and their role as corporate leaders", states Nathalie Nahas from the Sustainability team, which is responsible for the initiative.
CirandaD Vivências is part of CirandaD, Duratex's sustainability education program.
